WHAT IS THE WINTER WEEKEND? The Hay Winter Festival Weekend 2019, which has been running for twenty years, is a smaller version of the main festival with events taking place in venues in the town. The 2019 Festival was our biggest and most high-profile yet. The town’s atmospheric market square is a focus of festivities. On the Friday, the Hay Christmas lights are turned on, transforming the town into a winter wonderland brimming with festive cheer. Accompanied by carol singing, readings and evening entertainment. On the Saturday, Hay Food Festival celebrates all that’s good about winter cooking, with over 50 stalls showcasing the very best of local produce, from savoury to sweet. On the Sunday Hay Market Square is transformed into a festive outdoor artisan market. With a wide range of traders offering a diverse collection of local arts and crafts. Howells School Shows 2019 Posted on 8th October 20199th March 2020 by stageadmin Stage Lighting Services were once again asked to provide a large variety of equipment for show’s in Howells School in Llandaf. Two of the more recent shows were Peter Pan and The Wizard of Oz. The Howells School Sports Hall was transformed to their specific needs. The equipment Stage Lighting Services supplied included the following; Steeldeck Staging, Pipe & Drape, Rigging, Power and Distribution, MVS Hazers, Robe 600 Spots, Robe Spiiders, Robe CycFX, Truss, Motors and Rigging, ETC Ion Lighting Console with Art-Net. Along with a dedicated project manager providing technical support when required. We also had help from Stage Sound Services who provided Sound and Video for the event. Haverfordwest Castle, Over the Moon Posted on 2nd October 20199th March 2020 by stageadmin The Stage Lighting Services were at Haverfordwest Castle providing our Pulsar Chroma Floods. The event was created by Span Arts, for their Over The Moon Lantern Parade. We were asked to light up the castle in a mix of red and blue. We used our IP Rated Pulsar Chroma Floods. This included Steeldeck staging, lighting hire & design, power distribution and onsite technical support. Also in conjunction with our sister company Stage Sound Services Ltd we were able to supply sound equipment, design and operation for Cardiff Open Air Theatre. Our Managing Director and Production Manager were onsite for the duration of the festival, leading our team of trained technicians to support this great event. World’s Largest Jute Bag Posted on 17th July 201920th February 2020 by stageadmin Stage Lighting Services were asked by Cotton Bag Co (UK) to provide a truss structure to suspend the worlds largest jute bag! This was in attempt to promote their brand and encourage the use of reusable bags over single use plastic bags. The attempt coincided with International Plastic Bag Free Day and Plastic Free July. This Jute Bag now holds the Guiness World Record for largest jute bag! The Truss used was Milos 290v Quad designed into a mounting structure to take the weight of the jute bag. Hay Festival 2019 Posted on 31st May 20199th March 2020 by stageadmin This year working alongside Stage Sound Services, we supplied a complete and comprehensive technical package for the 7 venues at the Hay Festival site, with two venues switching completely to LED fixtures this year. This technical package included Avolites dimming, ETC Ion & Colorsource consoles, Milos 290V Quad and Total Solutions Group slick truss structures, full compliment of fixtures and complete project management with an onsite project manager for the duration of the build.
